Just wanted to let you all know that on Tuesday 01/27/2009 at approximately 8:30 pm I helped my beautiful princess Purrscilla make her journey across the Rainbow Bridge. She went quietly, with my whispers of good-bye and I love you in her ear, and my tears raining down on her.
Purrscilla was 15 years old, soon to be 16, and was the love of my life for the 3 years I have lived with her. She has been frail and sick for a while, and without a positive diagnosis, seems to have had a stroke of some sort early Tuesday evening and was left unable to use her back legs. She also lost bladder control, which was likely mortifying for her, as she was very prissy and clean, and would not even use a "dirty" litterbox.
I had to decide for her, and I decided a life without the use of her hind legs was no life at all. So, I made the heart-wrenching decision to let her go peacefully and with no pain, with her dignity still intact. The drive to the Dayton Emergency Veterinary Clinic was treacherous that night, but I had to make my princess whole again. I hope when she crossed she knew she was loved, and I hope her journey was peaceful. I know she is whole again, and healthy, and laying in the sunshine, tail twitching.
RIP my angel
