(Dog Reference: PPR17-12)
The adoption donation fee for Ella is $225
Meet our little Ella. She is a very special girl who is approximately 7 years old and weighs only 3.4 lbs. She is black and brown in color. (That was hard to tell when she came in to PPR, as she had little hair when she arrived.)
Ella was found in a local grocery store parking lot wandering around on a cold February day. The person who found her turned her over to PPR after not being able to find her owners. We assumed she was dumped due to her condition. She had chronic issues and was very weak and fragile. She had skin problems that smelled so awful, it about made you sick. Her toenails were curled into her pads of her feet and her feet are deformed – most likely from living in a bird cage or similar conditions. After lots of TLC, medical testing and medication, she is on her way to being a happy little girl. She will be a special needs dog – who has a huge heart and wants and deserves a caring and loving home.
Ella will not be available until the end of May. Due to her condition her spay date had to be postponed until May 18th. We will not adopt her until she has been spayed.
Ella has received all of her vaccinations and has been on a variety of medications to help with a cough. We have provided heart and lung x-rays and they all seem to be clear. We give her frequent baths for her skin and her hair is coming in nicely.
Ella is looking for a home who can provide her a lap to sit on. She is not one who is going to play with toys or one who requires lots of exercise. She enjoys long naps and eating. Those are her two favorite things. She is so funny to watch. The picture on her bio is one taken at Petco – there was a Lady visitor who just sat and held her all the entire time we were there. We keep her in an xpen at the moment (due to having lots of dogs which can knock her over) with pee pads. She will go potty outside, however she is not crate or potty trained as yet. She might never be – due to her background. However, as she continues to get stronger and more active, we will continue the training process.
We prefer to consider an older couple or person who can devote the time and care that Ella will need. She is a sweetheart. Ella will continue to attend Petco and adoption events until she is adopted.
NOTE: Normally we would not post an unaltered dog however, as stated above, she will not be available for adoption until after she has recovered from her May 18th surgery date. She has been with us for a while and would like to get her on our website for some exposure. She truly devotes a loving home.
